The collection includes artefacts and information relating to the Parish of Abernethy from the days of the 3,000 year old logboat recovered nearby in 2007, the Roman legionary fortress at Carpow, Abernethy as a Pictish capital, an important religious centre during early Christian times - and so on down to WWII when Abernethy was home to many Polish troops.
There is a core exhibition relating to the historic Round Tower and the Pictish history of the Abernethy area.  Abernethy's highly acclaimed Millennium quilt is also on permanent display.  Other displays in the Museum are changed regularly, with many of them focusing on life in Abernethy in more recent times.  There is also a children's activities area based on current displays.
There are displays covering social history, local industries and businesses, churches, school, sport, leisure activities, Mugdrum Island, famous names of Abernethy and photographic archives.
